Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) - Business Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and communicative Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) Business Analyst to translate complex business questions into technical data requirements.
In this role, you will act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technical implementation team. Your focus will be on defining what to measure, documenting how it should be measured, and validating that the final CJA implementation delivers actionable insights.
You will ensure that our investment in CJA drives real business value by enabling cross-channel analysis and customer journey optimization.
Responsibilities
Conduct workshops with stakeholders (Marketing, Product, Operations) to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business use cases (e.g., "Customer 360 view," "Call Center deflection," "Omnichannel attribution").
Translate business needs into detailed Solution Design References (SDRs) and technical specifications for CJA Developers.
Manage the backlog of analytics requests, prioritizing items based on business value and technical feasibility.
Create and maintain functional documentation, including Data Dictionaries and tagging specs
Map business metrics to specific Data Views and Connections within CJA (e.g., defining how "Revenue" differs between e-commerce and offline POS data).
Document the logic for "Derived Fields" and calculated metrics in plain business language for end-users.
Build standard dashboards and Analysis Workspace projects in CJA to democratize data access for business teams.
Train business users on how to use CJA, helping them transition from traditional single-channel reporting (like standard Adobe Analytics) to cross-channel journey analysis.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the configured CJA projects meet the defined business requirements.
Validate that stitched data (online + offline) makes sense from a business perspective (e.g., "Do these call center metrics align with our operational reports?").
Work closely with the AEP/CJA Architect to ensure the data model supports future business roadmaps.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Digital Analyst, or Product Owner in the analytics space.
Experience working with Adobe Analytics or Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) is highly preferred.
Experience working with marketing stakeholders and translating their needs into technical tickets (Jira/Confluence).
Understanding of digital analytics concepts (Hits, Visits, Visitors vs. CJA "Person" scope).
Familiarity with the concept of "Data Stitching" and identity resolution.
Basic understanding of data schemas (XDM) and how different data sources (Web, App, CRM) relate to each other.
Proficiency in creating visualizations and reports in Analysis Workspace.
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) – ability to speak "Marketing" and "Developer" fluently.
Strong presentation skills for demonstrating dashboards and training users.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
